DiverCITY BBQ at Springhurst Park

CAG is hosting our DiverCITY BBQ at Springhurst Park this Thursday, as a part of Welcoming Ottawa Week!


Date: Thursday June 26, 2025

Time: 5:30pm - 8:00pm

Rain Date: Friday June 27, 2025 from 5:30pm - 8:00pm


This event will encourage newcomers, immigrants, students and long-time residents to meet, share a meal and learn more about each other in one of Ottawa's most beautiful and active city parks: Springhurst Park (24 Brunswick Street).


We will be grilling up hamburgers and hot dogs, and chips, juice, soda and water are also on the menu! Vegetarian, halal and gluten-free options will be available.

Embrace your Old Ottawa East pride and represent our community's welcoming spirit by volunteering at the DiverCity BBQ!


Visit volunteersignup.org/DF9A3 to view all volunteer shifts. Duties include washing and slicing toppings, working the cash, set-up and clean-up, and of course, grilling on the BBQs!


Everyone is welcome to help, no experience necessary! We can't wait to see you there.

Day/Time: Tuesdays, 1:00pm - 4:00pm

Location: Old Town Hall - Upstairs (61 Main Street)

Pricing: $150.00 (+GST)

Step into a land of fantasy and adventure with the CAG Dungeons and Dragons group! This program is ideal for those with strong imaginations and adventurous spirits.

Players will embark into the untamed wilderness of the Sword Coast and ascend Icespire Peak to face a fearsome white dragon. All wizards, warriors, rogues and clerics looking to prove themselves as worthy are welcome!


In the first week we will be guided through creating our new characters, and by week two, our quest begins proper.

CAG's Summer 2025 Adult Fitness/Wellness classes are open for registration!

Stay active this summer by signing up for one of our fitness classes! Whether you're looking to break a sweat (in the comfortable AC of Old Town Hall!) or slow down with some yoga, CAG has you covered!


Our Summer session will begin the week of June 30 (some classes begin the week of July 7).

Come join this weekly gathering and practice your figure-drawing skills while learning and sharing with your fellow artists. Beginners, as well as experienced artists, are most welcome.

Stitch, Hook and Knit Social


Day/Time: Tuesdays, 6:00pm - 9:00pm

Dates: July 8, July 22, August 5, August 19

Location: Old Town Hall (61 Main Street)

Pricing: This no-cost social event is funded by donations


Bring your tools and projects and join us twice a month for an evening where adult sewists, crocheters, knitters, and other textile hobbyists are welcome to work among friends and neighbours.

Tuesday Toddler Playgroup


Day/Time: Tuesdays, 10:00am - 12:00pm

Summer Session: July 8 - August 19, 2025

Location: Old Town Hall (61 Main Street)

Pricing: $25.00/child (session), $5.00/child (drop-in)


CAG staff will facilitate the weekly activities for this playgroup. Crafts, sensory play, music and more will be offered in the comfortable space of Old Town Hall!


Kids will be able to explore wonderful toys while you enjoy getting to know your neighbours - good for you and for them!

This casual playgroup is priced for flexibility and invites you to come and go as you please and as suits your schedule. Financial assistance is available, contact admin@ottawaeastcag.ca for more information.

Main Street Farmers' Market: Summer Stars Contest


Shop at the Main Street Farmers' Market between June 7 and August 30 and collect a stamp each time you visit. Collect 7 stamps and you'll earn an entry to win $500 in Market Dollars!


The Main Street Farmers' Market is open from 9:00am - 2:00pm on Saturdays at Grande Allée Park until October 25.

Brantwood Wading Pool: Now Open!

The wading pool at Brantwood Park is officially open for the summer! You can view the weekly schedule on the City's website here, by searching "Brantwood Park" under the "Wading Pools" section.

Welcoming Ottawa Week 2025

Welcoming Ottawa Week (WOW) 2025 is running from Monday June 16 to Monday June 30!

WOW is an annual series of events and activities such as dialogues and town halls, cultural and celebratory activities, art and photo exhibits, guided tours, storytelling sessions, food tastings, and other fun and engaging events.


WOW events are intended to convey Ottawa's genuine welcome and solidarity to newcomers, and to forge strong social, civic and intellectual connections among Ottawa residents and newcomers. Check out their searchable Event Calendar to find these fun, informative and inclusive events.

This Camping 101 workshop presented by Parks Canada is designed to help participants plan and enjoy their first camping trip with confidence. Whether you're completely new to camping or looking to refine your outdoor skills, this workshop offers practical advice designed to give everyone the tools they need to get out in nature.
