This Weekend: The Main Event 2025

Kid's Movie Night & Pizza Party


Kickoff Main Event weekend this Friday Sept 19th with Movie Night in Old Ottawa East!


Children aged 0 - 5 years old and their families are welcome to the Kid's Movie Night & Pizza Party on Friday Sept 19th at 6:00pm.


Doors will open at 5:45pm and the movie will be: A Bug's Life!


Pizza slices will be available for $2.50 each at Old Town Hall (vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options will be available). $1.00 juice, water and pop will be available, as well as free popcorn! CAG accepts cash, Interac, Visa and Mastercard.

Movie in the Park


Join us in Springhurst Park this Friday Sept 19th for family movie night! The movie will be: How To Train Your Dragon (2025)!


The movie will start at 8:00pm, so plan to arrive around 7:30pm to set up your spot and grab some free popcorn!


Juice, pop and water will also be available for $1.00 each. CAG accepts cash, Interac, Visa and Mastercard. No registration is required, and don't forget to bring your lawn chairs, blankets and bug spray!

Celebrate the Main Event with your family, friends and neighbours this Saturday Sept 20th! From 10:00am - 3:00pm join us at the community party beside the Grande Allée (185 Main Street).


Featuring live music, a kid's fun zone, community booths, the Old Ottawa East Community Association's BBQ fundraiser, and art from The Mainstreeter's A Walk of Art 2025!


Plus, free demo classes of CAG's Fall Fitness offering! Curious about a CAG Fitness class but want to try it out first? All are welcome to try free, 30 minute classes at the Main Event. There will be time after the exercises to speak with the instructor and ask questions. Bring yourself, a water bottle, and get ready to move!


Our Fitness schedule for Saturday will be available on our website tomorrow (Wednesday).

The final event of the fabulous Main Event weekend will be the Old Ottawa East Community Garage Sale on Sunday Sept 21st!

Old Ottawa East Community Association (OOECA)

OOECA BBQ Fundraiser at the Main Event


Wondering what you'll have for lunch at the Main Event Community Party on Saturday Sept 20? Wonder no longer!


The OOECA is holding their BBQ fundraiser from 11:00am - 2:00pm (or until sold out) at the Grande Allée (185 Main Street). Interested in volunteering at the BBQ? Complete the volunteer registration form by Wed Sept 17 here.

OOECA Fall 2025 Membership Drive


The OOECA has launched its 2025 Membership Drive. You can purchase or renew your $5 membership at the Main Event this weekend, the OOECA's table at the Main Street Farmer's Market, an upcoming board meeting, or via e-transfer.

The Mainstreeter's A Walk of Art 2025

The Mainstreeter presents A Walk of Art 2025, the 6th annual outdoor local art tour of Old Ottawa East.


More than 60 artists and artisans will be exhibiting their handiwork throughout the community on Saturday Sept 20th.

Take a look at the Ottawa Public Library: Sunnyside Branch events calendar to see their upcoming kid, adult, and family-friendly programming!

Carleton's Monthly Science Café

On Wednesday September 17 at 7:00pm, explore science through one of Carleton University's popular Science Cafés! Each Café consists of a 30 - 40 minute talk by a scientist followed by a moderated question and answer period.
