Hello, hello! Long time no see. I know itâs been a minute since weâve graced your inbox with our presence, but I promise itâs not for lack of work. In fact, itâs quite the opposite. Since we last shared, weâve:
- Said âsee you laterâ to a fearless leader
- Welcomed new faces to the staff
- Re-started programming, full steam ahead, after a COVID induced hiatus
- Established first ever partnerships with State and National Programs
- Hosted multiple wildly successful youth-focused events
- Celebrated another successful Red Ribbon Week
- And much, much more!
Weâll share more about a lot of these below, but here, I want to take a few moments to delve into some big ticket items of late.
First, our farewell to Wendy. She was our guidepost for 15 years, leading us through numerous successes in that time. Without her leadership, CAHL is not the strong organization it is today. Weâre so grateful for her, and that we get to continue partnering with her in her new role with the State Tobacco Prevention and Control Program.
Which leads to our next big items: staffing shifts and new-hires! As of July, Iâve stepped into the Executive Director role, to keep our momentum rolling. I know I have big shoes to fill, and Iâm committed to taking that on. In addition to continuing the great work CAHL has done in the past, Iâm excited to explore new opportunities that will allow us to fully execute the totality of CAHLâs mission. Thank you in advance for your support of this!
To support our work and ensure we donât lose momentum, weâve brought on Carri Ciske as our first-ever Youth Prevention Specialist. In this role, Carri will provide youth-centered substance use prevention services to promote health, enhance protective factors and increase knowledge, skills, and attitudes for making healthy choices. She brings a wealth of knowledge and passion, which sheâll talk about below. But, suffice it to say, weâre ELATED to have her on the team!
With that, please enjoy the updates below. I promise to be somewhat more regular with our newsletter in the future; whatever âregularâ means! In the meantime, never hesitate to reach out for anything you need: questions (big and small), resources (big and small) or simple hellos! You can find most of what you need at www.cahlinc.org, including how to contact us all!
