Happy Holidays!

I can’t believe we are in the last few weeks of 2023! This time of year, the air is filled with the hustle and bustle of holiday celebrations. It seems like everyone is rushing around before the clock strikes 2024!

This time of year, it is easy to miss deadlines. Do not miss the pre-registration deadline for the CAHPERD State Conference! Pre-registration ends December 22, 2023! I am so excited about the program and know you will not want to miss this amazing conference!

Thursday, the conference starts with two early morning workshops, one for tennis and one for soccer. There is a limit to the number of people we can accommodate for the soccer session, so make sure you indicate on the registration form if you plan on attending the soccer workshop. Former Harlem Globetrotter, Melvin Adams will kick our conference off at the Opening General Session with, “ "RESET: Get Unstuck, Regain Hope, and Redefine What’s Possible". Thursday evening, I hope you will join me at the Welcome Reception for “CAHPERD Family Game Night.” Thank you to School Health for their generous donation of games for the evening social. Friday morning, join us for an exclusive exhibitor preview, coffee will be available. Later that morning, Lauren Lieberman,our general session keynote, will present 'Universally Designing Your Physical Education Class". Friday evening we honor our own at the Annual Awards Banquet. This is a ticketed event so you will want to purchase those tickets early to guarantee you can attend before tickets run out! Grab and Go breakfast and lunch options will be available for purchase at the hotel so you don’t have to worry about missing anything! More information on how to purchase food to go will be available at the Hotel.

Need your Disneyland fix? Grab your friends and take the shuttle to Disney for a fun time. Discount tickets are available for purchase on our CAHPERD website. Reservations are required to enter the parks, so plan now!

Having FOMO because you have to work on Thursday and Friday? No worries, we have a weekend registration rate for Friday starting at noon and going through Saturday. Saturday is packed full of professional development opportunities including our final keynote presenter, Tonya Moore who will present "LGBTQ+ Inclusiveness in Physical Education and Health Instruction".

We are putting on the finishing touches on what should be a great conference! I look forward to seeing you in 2024 at the State Conference in Orange County!
