Jumpstarting Artist Jobs Report

During the COVID-19 pandemic, new artist employment programs were launched to provide paid creative work for artists while advancing local community needs. A new report released today by the NEA, “Jumpstarting Artist Jobs: Case Studies of U.S. Employment Programs for Creative Workers” spotlights several examples, alongside practical recommendations to support future employment-based arts initiatives.

This report builds on the NEA’s historic support for workforce development from apprenticeships for early-career theater professionals through Shakespeare in American Communities, to our support of Roundabout Theatre’s 2021 convening on strengthening the workforce for technical theater positions.
