CAI Members,

We are devastated by the tragic flooding events that occurred over the weekend in Kerr County and across Central Texas. The loss of life, particularly the young lives lost at Camp Mystic in Hunt, has deeply impacted our communities and our hearts go out to all those affected.

In response, the Boards of the CAI Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio Chapters met on July 7, 2025, to develop a coordinated, statewide effort to support those in need. We are committed to coming together as a CAI family to provide immediate and long-term assistance.

We know the strength of our organization lies in our membership, and your compassion, generosity, and willingness to help during times of need are what make CAI extraordinary.

We will share more updates and details on how you can help in the coming days. In the meantime, please keep the families, businesses, and communities of Kerr County and Central Texas in your thoughts.

With heartfelt sympathy and deep commitment to service,

CAI Texas Board of Directors

SUPPLIES DRIVE

Officials in Kerr County have indicated that they have no need for food, water, or other goods. They have stated that monetary donations have a far greater impact to meet specific needs quickly and efficiently. CAI will monitor the need to organize a supplies drive in the coming weeks and months as the recovery and rebuilding process evolves.

MONETARY & IN-KIND DONATIONS

Collectively, the CAI Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio Chapters have committed to making a $30,000 matching donation to the recovery and rebuilding efforts in Kerr County and Central Texas. If you wish to make an individual donation, we encourage you to consider the organizations listed below. For those who require an invoice from CAI for the organization to make a donation on your behalf, email Jesus Azanza at jazanza@caihouston.org.

SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER, DO NOT SELF-DEPLOY

The road to recovery will take months, and we are prepared to assist. Kerr County falls within the CAI San Antonio Chapter’s territory, and they will lead the coordination of volunteer support. While all members statewide are welcome to participate, leveraging local resources and San Antonio’s proximity will streamline the deployment of volunteer assistance.

At this time, self-deployed search efforts are strongly discouraged. Professional rescue teams and first responders are actively conducting search and recovery operations, and the presence of untrained individuals, personal drones, or unauthorized watercraft may hinder their efforts and create hazardous conditions. For the safety of all involved and the effectiveness of ongoing operations, the public is urged to allow trained personnel to carry out their work without interference.

If you would like to volunteer, call 830-465-4797 or go to Texas Community Recovery (Texas Community Recovery) — a page developed by the Texas Division of Emergency Management. A volunteer reception center is set up at 855 Hays Street in Kerrville from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
