CAIS Senior School Leadership Conference

Leadership Advisors and student leaders are invited to the CAIS Senior School Student Leadership Conference from April 27, 28 and 29th, 2023 at Rothesay Netherwood School in Rothesay, New Brunswick.

The 2023 CAIS Senior School Leadership Conference designed to:

  • build students’ knowledge and understanding of themselves as leaders,
  • develop leadership competencies and understanding of leadership dispositions,
  • work collaboratively to create school-based action plans and,
  • have fun along the way!
The Conference will explore ideas of celebrating and learning from the past, valuing our interconnectedness, inclusion, belonging, and how we need each other to move forward and effect change. The theme builds upon the terms, Ubuntu/botho from the Bantu language countries of Africa which translates to, “I am because you are.”

The RNS Student Planning committee is an integral part of the Conference Planning. They are selecting guest speakers, group discussions, and planning activities that will contribute to the learning outcomes.

Leadership Advisors/Chaperones- enjoy the keynote speeches and select activities along with their students and will have time to debrief daily activities in order to create a follow up action plan for their schools.

Professional Learning sessions will be offered to Leadership Advisors related to supporting student leadership including:

  • School leadership selection process and leadership development
  • How to create inclusive student leadership programs
How to Participate?

Leadership Advisors are invited to select up to four students between grades 10-11.

Participating schools typically send four students and two advisors to the Conference. While it is recommended that two advisors attend (representing different genders), participating schools may send one advisor if this is consistent with their school practice.

If there is availability for additional students, Leadership Advisors will be notified and given the opportunity to add students.
