Driving Student Success with

EAC Visual Data Insights

Elmira T. Asongwed, DNP, MS, RN, CNE

Assistant Professor

CAUSES

The Educational Assessments Corporation (EAC) is a powerful data visualization tool within Blackboard Outcomes. This integrated resource allows faculty to analyze student learning outcomes through test questions and rubric data, offering actionable insights to refine teaching strategies and promote meaningful academic progress. Dr. Asongwed, a pioneer in using EAC, demonstrated how its visual data capabilities can lead to significant improvements at the course level. In collaboration with Dr. Rebecca Graham, Director of Institutional Assessment and Outcomes, and Grace Kent, Instructional Designer and Outcomes Assessment Coordinator, she reviewed EAC reports to identify areas for enhanced scaffolding in her NURS 300 - RN to BSN Transition assignments. This effort resulted in the integration of APA formatting tutorials from LinkedIn Learning and the VR soft skills application BodySwaps, which helped students improve their presentation skills.

The data visualization report has been instrumental in helping me understand where my students need more support and how I can address those gaps with targeted resources. It’s been a valuable addition to my teaching toolkit,” Dr. Asongwed shared.
