Training: Construction Project Management

The Center for Tribal Transportation is offering a two-day in-person training program on construction project management, designed specifically for transportation professionals responsible for managing construction and infrastructure projects on tribal lands.


The curriculum integrates industry-standard project management methodologies with the unique regulatory, cultural, and operational considerations that define tribal transportation projects.

Training: Traffic Control for Safer Work Zones

April 24, 2026, 8am–5pm PT


The Technology Transfer Program at UC Berkeley is hosting an 8-hour training that is designed to keep workers and the public safe during road construction and maintenance, utility work, landscaping and railway maintenance work along roadways in California.


This course is compliant with the California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (CAMUTCD), Cal-OSHA Sections 1598 & 1599, and California Vehicle Code Section 21400, and incorporates the latest state/federal guidelines.


Course Topics:


  • Traffic control plans for various types of roadway situations encountered in cities and counties in California
  • Some instruction on proper flagging procedures
  • Legal section on work zone tort liability

Funding Opportunity: Roadside Pollinator Program


USDOT and FHWA have released the Notice of Funding Opportunity for the Roadside Pollinator Program (RPP), allocating a total of $3.8M for activities that benefit pollinators on roadsides and highway rights-of-way.


The Roadside Pollinator Program was established under Section 11528 of the Infrastructure Investment & Jobs Act to help promote the creation and protection of pollinator habitats along the nation’s roads and highways.


Eligible Applicants:


  • State DOTs, Indian Tribes, Federal Land Management Agencies
