Unless Something Goes Terribly Wrong

APWA Sacramento is hosting a special screening of Unless Something Goes Terribly Wrong, a documentary exploring the challenges, complexities, and importance of infrastructure and public works systems, with a special focus on wastewater treatment systems.

Following the film, attendees can participate in a moderated Q&A discussion with industry professionals to continue the conversation around infrastructure resilience, risk management, and the future of public works.

In-Person Training: OSHA 10 Construction

August 15-16, 2026, 8am–3pm PT

This OSHA 10 safety training for construction workers & supervisors in Nice, CA, helps participants understand how to navigate common job-site hazards so that they feel safe at work. Primarily, this involves spotting, avoiding, and reporting safety and health risks encountered on a daily basis.

The training includes best practices on how to prevent slipping, tripping, getting struck by an object, electrocution, and getting caught in between objects or machinery. Additionally, the training helps increase your knowledge about construction-specific safety measures under OSHA 29 CFR 1926.

A second session is also offered on August 17–18

In-Person Training: Introduction to
 Heavy Equipment Operations & Safety

August 17-18, 2026, 8am–5pm PT



This comprehensive training in Lake Havasu, CA, provides the knowledge and practical skills for safely operating and working around dump trucks, forklifts, motor graders, and skid steers.

It covers equipment orientation, work zone setup, and critical safety practices for operators and pedestrian workers. Participants will also learn key principles of vehicle operation, load securement, inspection procedures, and the use of pre-trip and pre-job checklists to ensure safe and efficient operations.

BRIC recognizes the need to upgrade and modernize infrastructure against the growing risks to communities and the need for natural hazard risk mitigation activities that promote resilience with respect to natural hazards.

FHWA is requesting detailed proposals for the design, construction, and installation of a National Fallen Highway Workers Memorial.
