Caltrans advises motorists to be alert for signs indicating the traffic shift to know in advance which lane to take. Motorists looking to use the Stockton Boulevard off-ramp, the northbound and southbound Business 80 connector, and the 26th Street off-ramp need to stay in the far-right lanes.
The project rehabilitating the pavement and adding 14 lane miles of high-occupancy lanes from the US-50/Interstate 5 interchange to the US-50/Watt Avenue interchange, along with drainage improvements, Intelligent Transportation System elements, new signs and striping.
Motorists traveling through the work zone should expect lane restrictions and be aware of commercial work vehicles traveling in and out of the area. The work zone speed limit has been reduced to 55 mph and the California Highway Patrol will be present for traffic enforcement.
