FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Westbound U.S. Highway 50 Extended Ramp Closure in Sacramento

Long Term Closure at 65th Street Slip On-ramp Begins Tonight

SACRAMENTO – Caltrans is continuing work on the U.S. Highway 50 (US-50) Multimodal Corridor Enhancement “Fix50” Project, which includes a seven-day closure of the southbound 65th Street slip on-ramp to westbound US-50 starting tonight at 9 p.m. through Tuesday, November 13 at 5 a.m.

Caltrans does not anticipate heavy dust or noise impacts to nearby city streets.

Suggested Detours

  • Motorists can turn right onto S Street and go straight to the 59th Street on-ramp to westbound US-50
  • Motorists can also take the loop on-ramp to eastbound US-50 and turn around at the Howe Avenue interchange to westbound US-50.

The ongoing work is part of a $483.5 million project to rehabilitate pavement and add 14 lane miles of high-occupancy lanes from the US 50/Interstate 5 interchange to the US 50/Watt Avenue interchange.

Motorists traveling through the work zone should expect lane restrictions and be aware of commercial work vehicles traveling in and out of the area. The work zone speed limit has been reduced to 55 mph and the California Highway Patrol will be present for traffic enforcement.
