Coordinated Assessment Model
The Coordinated Assessment Model (CAM) process is a referral system designed to be a starting point for people who are experiencing homelessness in Detroit, Hamtramck and Highland Park. The goal of the CAM system is to connect people in a fair and equitable way to housing and other related resources as available.

The Sterling Heights Housing Commission is accepting applications for the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV), formerly known as Section 8, Program Waiting List up to the first 100 Applicants on: Wednesday, October 8 at 10am.
The HCV Program Waiting List will close once 100 online submissions are received.

Project Based Voucher Program

The Project Based Voucher Program (PBV Program) is designed to provide low and moderate-income individuals and families with housing assistance in specific units contracted with Detroit Housing Commission (DHC). The housing assistance is provided to income-eligible applicants who are approved for tenancy at the contracted location. You apply to the PBV location waiting list of your choice. The Project Based Assistance is only available to those selected and approved from the program site waiting list.

DTE has partnered with local organizations to provide face-to-face assistance events in the community where customers can ask questions about bills and receive in-person customer service from DTE team members. While customer bills cannot be paid at these events, you can receive guidance on how to seek payment assistance and additional support.

Starting November 3, the Salvation Army is taking in-person applications for assistance at its Montrose location. Families with children ages 0 to 16 years old and senior citizens aged 60 or older are eligible and must apply in-person. The application periods lasts from November 3 through December 2. The days to apply are Mondays and Tuesdays, from 9am to 11:30am and 1pm to 3pm. Applicants must provide proof of all members living in the household.
The Following Documentation is Required to Apply:
Driver’s license or State ID of applicant - with current address - (not expired)
- *ID required for all adult household members
Proof of children in household:
- DHS award/benefit letter - current
- Birth certificate- original or copies
- Report card with current address
- Grandparents must provide proof of guardianship for all grandchildren in the household

The Housing and EFA programs provide emergency financial assistance to households experiencing utility shutoff, eviction, and first month’s rent for a new move. This assistance is designed to help clients living with HIV stay engaged or reengage in medical care.
