Coordinated Assessment Model

CAM Newsletter

From the CAM Implementing Partners

October 20, 2023

CAM (or coordinated entry, as it is nationally known) is a model used in many cities to provide a streamlined process of resources for people experiencing homelessness. The primary functions of CAM include connecting clients to shelters; assessing a person’s housing needs; identifying and prioritizing the most vulnerable; and referrals to housing programs for long-term assistance.

Shelter Access Update

Due to limited availability, some shelters are not accepting walk-ins overnight. Please call CAM Monday - Friday between 8 am - 6 pm to speak to someone who can advise on shelter availability and/or other options. Please note that available shelter beds are limited and change daily.

Please call CAM during open hours to get the latest information.

Upcoming Service Hours Reduction

The CAM call line will be operating with reduced staffing from 9:00am-11:30 am on Friday, October 20th, 2023. There will be limited live phone service between these identified hours, and regular staffing structure will resume from 11:30am-6pm for the rest of that day.
