Coordinated Assessment Model

CAM Newsletter

From the CAM Implementing Partners

CAM (or coordinated entry, as it is nationally known) is a model used in many cities to provide a streamlined process of resources for people experiencing homelessness. The primary functions of CAM include connecting clients to shelters; assessing a person’s housing needs; identifying and prioritizing the most vulnerable; and referrals to housing programs for long-term assistance.

"I truly believe that the transition will result in a better system for people that will be more flexible, that will allow them to meet with people in person or over the phone. But I think that's one of the other reasons why our work is so important is because it's in person and it's not a one shot. We are truly honored to be apart this amazing team effort and look forward to what the future holds."

Matthew Tommelein, Coordinated Entry Programs Manager, Community & Home Supports, Inc. (CHS)
