The Construction Association of Michigan is excited to announce the nominees for the upcoming Board of Directors election. We are pleased to introduce you to these exceptional candidates who are dedicated to steering the direction of the Association and shaping the future of our industry.


Through a member voting process, three will be selected and installed during the 138th CAM Annual Meeting on Wednesday, February 14, 2024. Board members serve a three-year term.


Each member firm receives ONE ballot via USPS. Ballots must be returned by December 8, 2023. Participation in this important process will help determine the direction of CAM and its continued commitment to the construction community.

We're Nearing Harvest Time ... for the Construction Buyers Guide

In keeping with the season, now is the time to sow your seeds of success! The 2024 Construction Buyers Guide must go to the printer next month in order to share the bounty with thousands of you at our February EXPO and beyond. You must submit your contracts this month to make it into the guide!

Hard Hats for Detroit: Sachse Partners with Local Artists in Support of Local Youth

Sachse Construction has partnered with artists Eric “El Cappy” Lowry, Mike Han, and Phillip Simpson, pairing them with local not-for-profit youth organizations to create a unique fundraising auction – Hard Hats for Detroit.


Each artist has designed a one-of-a-kind hard hat representing their unique interpretation of the spirit of Detroit to build a brighter future for the next generation.


An online auction allows bidders to select a specific artist’s work and, in turn, support the partner organization’s mission. Proceeds from each artwork will benefit the Downtown Boxing Gym, Junior Achievement of Southeastern Michigan, and The Konnection. OSHA Has Updated Its Recordkeeping Requirements

On July 17, 2023, the U.S. Department of Labor announced a rule expanding submission requirements for injury, illness data provided by employers in high-hazard industries. The final rule takes effect on January 1, 2024, for certain employers, including contractors and building materials manufacturers. CLICK HERE > to learn more.

Michigan’s Minimum Wage Set to Increase on January 1st

Effective January 1, 2024, Michigan's minimum hourly wage will increase to $10.33 per hour. The 85% rate for minors aged 16 and 17 will increase to $8.78 per hour. The tipped employee rate of hourly pay increases to $3.93 per hour. There is pending litigation that might affect this minimum wage increase. CLICK HERE > to learn more.
