Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators Formally Ratifies 2024-2025 Board of Directors

 

Banff, AB (June 4, 2024) – The Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators (CAMA) formally ratified their 2024-2025 Board of Directors at the Association’s Annual General Meeting held on June 4, 2024.


Congratulations to Tony Kulbisky, CAMA Representative for Alberta and Chief Administrative Officer for Westlock County, AB, who continues in the role of President. In February 2024, while serving as CAMA’s First Vice-President, he took over as CAMA President to complete the term of Bev Hendry, who retired as the Chief Administrative Officer for the Township of West Lincoln, ON, and had to give up her position as Board President due to CAMA’s constitution.  She continues as CAMA’s Past President.

 

“I am honoured to continue in the role of President,” said Kulbisky. “We have watched CAMA grow by over a hundred members in the past year, introduced new programs to support Chief Administrative Officers and senior municipal managers, as well as launched professional development programs for Executive Assistants working in local government. These are exciting times for CAMA and, working with the CAMA Board, I look forward to another successful year.”

 

The Board of Directors said farewell to the following individuals:

CAMA Honours Municipal Administrators with Long Service Recognition Awards for 2024

 

Banff, AB (June 4, 2024) Celebrating dedication and excellence in municipal leadership, the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators (CAMA) proudly acknowledges ninety-three (93) outstanding municipal administrators from across Canada through its esteemed 2024 Long Service Recognition Awards.

 

During CAMA's National Conference hosted at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel in Banff, Alberta, a special luncheon was held to present these prestigious awards to recipients receiving their 20, 25, 30, and 35 years of service, marking their remarkable contributions over the years. Jack Ramsden, Chief Administrative Officer for the Town of Eckville, Alberta was also recognized for his 45-year tenure at the CAMA President’s Dinner on June 5.

 

“It is truly gratifying to extend our heartfelt appreciation to these distinguished municipal administrators for their unwavering commitment and invaluable service”, said Tony Kulbisky, President of CAMA and Chief Administrative Officer for Westlock County, AB. “Their collective expertise serves as a guiding light, nurturing the next generation of leaders within our profession.”

 

In addition to the ceremonial presentations, CAMA has extended its gratitude to members commemorating 10 and 15 years of dedicated service through personalized letters of congratulations and recognition pins sent out in March 2024.

 

The breakdown of 2024 Long Services Awards is as follows: Ten Years of Service – 32 awards; Fifteen Years of Service – 30 awards; Twenty Years of Service – 13 awards; Twenty-Five Years of Service – 4 awards; Thirty Years of Service – 7 awards; Thirty Five Years of Service – 5 awards; one award for Forty Years of Service, and one award for 45 years of service.  For a comprehensive list of the recipients, click here.

 

CAMA’s Long Service Recognition Awards program is designed to honor individuals based on their full-time, paid employment within local government, serving in management capacities such as Chief Administrative Officers (CAOs) or in roles directly reporting to them. Commencing after ten years of service, these accolades are bestowed in five-year intervals.
