City Council members voted to approve RES 2021-R025 which sets the process for choosing the next owners of each of Richmond’s Confederate monuments.
ALSO IN THE OLD DOMINION
A 116-year-old Confederate monument has been removed from outside the courthouse in Isle of Wight County.
Saturday, someone placed Confederate Flags on the ground where the monument had stood. But those were removed by county official Rudolph Jefferson. “The flags were removed because they showed a negative point of view of the county. We closed that chapter and I’m ready to move forward,” Jefferson said.
IN THE PALMETTO STATE
All state government offices were closed Monday to mark Confederate Memorial Day.
IN THE OLD LINE STATE
In a shameless pandering criticized even by the NAACP, Maryland's governor has posthumously pardoned 34 victims of "racial lynching" in the state dating between 1854 and 1933, a first-of-its-kind pardon by a governor of a U.S. state.
Governor Hogan is also still to sign or veto the legislation to cancel the State Song of Maryland My Maryland. Please keep the pressure on the Governor to VETO the bill.
Pimlico, which will host the 145th Preakness Stakes, the second jewel in the "Triple Crown," this weekend; has said that the State Song will not be played per tradition this year because the track has determined that it is "offensive."
IN THE NATURAL STATE
The John Eliot Chapter Colonial Dames 17th Century has dedicated Camp White Sulphur Springs Confederate Cemetery as a historic site on April 25.
The chapter unveiled a historical plaque and held a dedication which was attended by members from Hot Springs, Hot Springs Village, Pine Bluff, Cabot, Searcy, Stuttgart, Little Rock and Illinois.
IN THE SUNSHINE STATE
Pensacola Mayor Grover Robinson is asking the City Council to approve spending $290,000 to remove the Confederate flag from all Pensacola Police Department uniforms and badges as recommended earlier this year by the Citizens Police Advisory Committee.
The request is the first item to come to the City Council from the police advisory committee report that was completed in January.
Robinson said the flag would be changed to show the state of Florida flag rather than the Confederate flag.
The Pensacola City Council voted 7-0 Thursday night to postpone a decision on removing the Flag from Pensacola police badges, patches and vehicles. Councilwoman Sherri Myers made the motion to revisit the issue at the Sept. 23 meeting, which is closer to the time when they will be discussing the budget.

NON HERITAGE NEWS EFFECTING THE SOUTHLAND:
A group named "Flag Officers 4 America" released a letter signed by 124 former military Generals and Admirals that questioned the 2020 election result and also questioned Sleepy Joe's physical and mental health.
"Without fair and honest elections that accurately reflect the 'will of the people' our Constitutional Republic is lost...The mental and physical condition of the Commander in Chief cannot be ignored. He must be able to quickly make accurate national security decisions involving life and limb anywhere, day or night," the letter said.
REPUBLICAN CONGRESSMAN TELLS THE TRUTH
Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-Ga.) is being called "ridiculous" for simply speaking the truth about Jan. 6 attack into the Congressional Record.
Congressman Clyde says that there was no "insurrection on January 6, 2021. He described footage from that day resembling a "normal tourist visit."
Rep. Clyde reported at a Wednesday hearing that "when supporters of former President Donald Trump 'stormed' the Capitol building to 'stop the election results from being certified,' it was not an 'insurrection' and it's a 'lie' to say it was...There was an undisciplined mob...There were some rioters and some who committed acts of vandalism. But let me be clear: there was no insurrection...television footage from Jan. 6 showed people entering the Capitol and taking videos and pictures in an orderly fashion...if you didn't know the TV footage was a video from January the 6th, you would actually think it was a normal tourist visit."
Department of Education seeks “Culturally responsive mathematics education.”
From the proposal:
"The evolution of mathematics in educational settings has resulted in dramatic inequities for students of color, girls, and students from low income homes...
"Teachers are encouraged to align instruction with the outcomes...
"The inequity of mathematics tracking in California can be undone through a coordinated approach in grades 6–12...
"The push to calculus in grade twelve is itself misguided...
"To encourage truly equitable and engaging mathematics classrooms we need to broaden perceptions of mathematics beyond methods and answers so that students come to view mathematics as a connected, multi-dimensional subject that is about sense making and reasoning, to which they can contribute and belong..."
In the name of “equity,” the proposed framework aims to keep everyone learning at the same dumbed down level for as long as possible. The intention is clear. The California Board of Education intends to sabotage the best and brightest, hoping to make everyone "equal."

Back in July of 2019 Gillian Brockell did an article for The Washington Post which dealt with Abraham Lincoln and his socialist leanings.
She made a point of telling her readers that "Of course, Lincoln was not a socialist, nor communist, nor Marxist, just as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer aren't. But Lincoln and Marx--born only nine years apart--were contemporaries. They had many mutual friends, read each other's work and, in 1865, exchanged letters. When Lincoln served his sole term in Congress in the late 1840s, the young lawyer from Illinois became close friends with Horace Greeley, a fellow Whig who served briefly alongside him. Greeley was better known as the founder of the New York Tribune..."
Horace Greeley was also, as Donnie Kennedy and I wrote in our book Lincoln's Marxists, a utopian socialist. But then, a lot of Lincoln's friends were socialists, or communists.
Brockell duly noted that Karl Marx was "intensely interested" in the plight of American slaves. Sure he was! The man who advocated the biggest system of slavery the world has ever known was concerned with the plight of American slaves! Give your readers a break, lady! Most of them except for the "useful idiots" trained to be Marxists know better.
Brockell observed that, like many Republicans, Lincoln was a steady reader of the Tribune and if you think he didn't read the material Marx wrote for the Tribune, nearly 500 articles, then you just ain't paying attention.
It was noted by Brockell that there were two factors that helped Lincoln in his presidential quest--"First, the support of former German revolutionaries who had become key players in the Republican Party; and second, the support of the party's newspaper, the Tribune. Look at what she is telling us here. Two of the main aids to Lincoln becoming president were the help of the Forty-Eighter socialists and communists who had basically infiltrated the new Republican Party and the help of a newspaper run by a utopian socialist. Sounds like most of Lincoln's help came from the political left. You don't suppose the reason for that was that the leftists of that day already knew where Lincoln was coming rom, do you? You have to wonder if Lincoln's comments about labor being prior to and independent of capitol had anything to do with this.
We were also told by Brockell that "Marx was friends with Charles A. Dana, an American socialist fluent in German who was managing editor of the New York Tribune. He was the one who hired Marx to write for the Tribune. And Brockell has told us that, once Lincoln took office, "his alliance with socialists didn't stop. Dana left the Tribune to become Lincoln's eyes and ears in the War Department..." Dana informed Lincoln, among other things, about what he thought of his generals.
Our book Lincoln's Marxists noted, on page 50, that Dana served under Edwin M. Stanton as assistant secretary of war in the Lincoln administration. That was a pretty lofty national position to be held by a socialist in the 1860s. So much for those folks that try to tell us we never had a problem with socialism or communism in this country until the 1930s. Such folks are either naive or they hope the rest of us are.
Arthur R. Thompson, in his informative work To The Victors Go The Myths And Monuments noted of Dana, on page 198 that: "Charles Dana was a vice president of the National Convention of Associations. He was a member of the Prodhonian Club, nicknamed the 48ers of America, composed mainly of Americans who participated in the revolution of 1848-1849 in Europe. In 1848 he spent eight months covering the revolutions for the New York Tribune, and he shared Marx's views. Dana wrote that the purpose of the uprisings was 'not simply to change the form of governments, but to change the form of society.' He did more than report. Dana is but one example of reporters who participated in revolutionary activities and then posed as impartial observers as 'reporters.' This has long been a tactic of the Left, and continues to this day."
Brockell reiterated once more that "Lincoln never took up the mantle of socialism" as if to tell us that we should now ignore all she has told us about Mr. Lincoln and he leftist coterie in Washington. Mr. Lincoln did not have to "take up the mantle. His actions spoke louder than his words. I have long contended that while Lincoln may not have been a Marxist he most assuredly had a socialist worldview and he had no problem whatever with socialists and communists. He was perfectly comfortable around them and their leftist views. The only thing Lincoln ever "emancipated" people from was their God-given liberties--and he was a master at that.

Several posts ago I posited that the second most consequential result of the coup in 2020 will be the great awakening of the Right. A friend of mine asked me where I saw the signs of this. This is a good question and I’ve been stewing on it. In a nutshell, I view what is happening on the Right as a rising tide or a river basin that has been poorly dammed, overfilled, and badly managed for too long. Something has to give.
In hindsight, 2020 will be placed by historians in the same category as years like 1968, 1941, 1860-1865, and 1776. There was what came before and then what came after. It will be a break in the timeline. The events of 2020 were so remarkable that they cannot but produce a reaction, and that reaction must come from the Right in direct and proportional opposition to the initiatives of the Left that made 2020 what it was. For every action there must be an equal reaction, right?
The dismay, anger, or even fury of the Right must manifest itself in some way.
While we Conservatives hardly agree as to what we mean by the term, Conservatism has been growing since the 1960's at least. It is increasingly articulate and was powerful enough to create a titan like Rush Limbaugh and then put an odd-duck like Trump in the Oval Office against massive institutional resistance in 2016, and only by wholesale fraud was he defeated in 2020.
In my view Conservatives today are vastly more conservative than they were yesterday because we have 50 years of hindsight. And I believe that the hardcore Right is growing and getting harder, and it is the hardcore of any movement that guides and propels it.
So I think signs of the awakening of the Right are everywhere. They are as numerous and visible as the little bubbles on the side of a pot of water set to boil, my little blog here being but one of those tiny bubbles.
I believe that the water will in fact begin to boil. Whether or not it boils over is anyone's guess.

Instead of taking his word for it, and giving him the benefit of the doubt, the woke mob used their misconstruing of his actions to define the totality of the man. The people who condemned Kelly Donohue were acting as close-minded, prejudiced, and hateful as they accused him of being. They did not wait to find all the facts before judging him, they didn’t consider his plausible explanation before condemning him.
They jumped to a conclusion, and remain entrenched in their false judgment regardless of the exculpatory evidence. They received so much pleasure from the virtue gained by judging and condemning him that they refuse to give it up in spite of evidence contrary to their judgment.
But this was more than simple prejudice and narrow-mindedness. It goes deeper and is more calculated than that. Kelly Donohue was created as the ultimate straw man. He was not a misjudged villain. He was a falsely created villain. In the movie, The Incredibles, the bad guy Syndrome kills all the real super-heroes, creates a fake villain that he controls, so he can defeat it in order to be glorified as a super-hero.
In 2021, the woke mob is operating with the same sociopathic mentality as Syndrome. They are destroying real heroes, tearing down the statues, and erasing the contributions of people like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and Ulysses Grant, and marginalizing heroes like Martin Luther King Jr by replacing his teachings of a color-blind society with racialized Critical Race Theory and equity. And by erasing these people’s heroic contributions to our country, they artificially create a hero-void which they hope to fill.
Once our heroes have been destroyed, these fake heroes, like Syndrome, will rise to defeat villains and become heroes. But in order to do that, they must manufacture fake villains because they are fake heroes. The woke mob needs villains, so when they cannot find one, they create one. This is why they invented micro-aggressions, implicit bias, dog whistles, white fragility, and fake white supremacy signs, all evidence-free charges of racism. It is also why there has been a slew of hate crime hoaxes in recent years; Jussie Smollet, Bubba Wallace, the Covington High School kids, the Duke Lacrosse Team, and the list goes on and on.
They create fake examples of racism so they can label people racist who are not racist and get pleasure and virtue from destroying their lives. This is why they attack people like Kelly Donohue who has publicly said, “I am not a racist, and I reject and condemn white supremacy and all forms of bigotry for the evil they are.” It’s easy to defeat a “white supremacist” who publicly condemns white supremacy. It’s like winning a football game where your opponent opts to punt on the first down of every possession.
The real heroes for racial equality in our history actually fought real villains. Abraham Lincoln and Ulysses Grant defeated the Confederate army who were armed with rifles, canons, and bayonets. Civil rights heroes like Martin Luther King Jr defeated the Jim Crow south and segregationist who used packs of dogs, billy clubs, and fire hoses against them. While the present-day woke-mob is proud that they destroyed a mild-mannered Jeopardy winner on Twitter for his sin flashing an OK sign. It is easy to defeat a racist in a country where the overwhelming majority of the people denounce racism, and there are Federal and State laws outlawing all types of discrimination. This is why people on the left label everything and everyone they disagree with as racist. No other work needs to be done.
During the 2016 Presidential campaign, Hilary Clinton said, “you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables… The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic—you name it.” She prejudged 40 million people, painting all of them with a broad brush. No context, no nuance. What evidence does she have for her assertion? What metric did she use to support her statement? I doubt she had spoken to 40 million Trump supporters to make that claim. I doubt she’s spoken to even 4 Trump supporters. Trump supporters are not allowed into her echo chamber. She didn’t have to beat Trump and his policies. She simply had to label Trump and his supporters as racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic, and then not be that, and she would win. She would automatically be more virtuous, more heroic.
Create the strawman, create the fake villain, and become a hero for defeating the fake villain you created. That’s the way it works.
And ultimately, this is why there is such a strong push to remove God from our society from the same people who are destroying our history and creating fake villains. They believe that if there is no God, then they can fill the void and become God. They can have the ultimate authority, the ultimate power. This is why they blame God for war, and starvation, and disease. God can’t exist, they believe, if all that suffering exists. But, in reality, it is not God creating all the suffering in the world, it’s the people in power. The powerful, the rich create the wars, they allow people to starve, they fail to provide medical care.
People are responsible for the suffering in the world, not God, and the very people who want to destroy God, and tear down our heroes, are the most responsible.

The latest victim of "cancel culture" is a horse. The horse, no doubt, is being punished because his trainer Bob Baffert, is one of those white Southern guys.
I know Bob Baffert. Many years ago, in Ocala, Florida (the horse capitol of the world) I was the president of the baseball league and Bob's son (you saw him at the Derby if you were watching) was one of our fine players. Bob was very generous in supporting the program so that hundreds of young men were able to play baseball in a first-rate program.
Bob Baffert became the first trainer to win the Kentucky Derby seven times. He also holds the record for the most wins at the Preakness, also seven.
Bob Baffert isn't stupid. He would not drug a horse and cheat his way to the winner's circle. In fact, Bob helped set up the rules to make sure that does not happen in what had been a very dirty sport before good men like Bob helped to clean it up.
Medina Spirit is a great horse and a true champion. Bob Baffert is a great trainer. And no liberal can erase those things by simply declaring them canceled.
Just as our ancestors were great men, heroes, and no attempt to "cancel" their valiant history will change that.
The Kentucky Racing Commission can strip Bob Baffert of his 2021 Kentucky Derby win on paper. But the world, and also the owners, trainers, and jockey of runner-up Mandaloun (if he is declared the "winner") will always know that they LOST to Medina Spirit. Every time they look at the cup they will know.
Over 150 years later, those who would cancel us know that our ancestors were the better men. Cancel culture cancels nothing.
Deo Vindice!
Dr. Ed
