Uplift Others
Through Creative Outlets

CAPA Marketing & Communications' chairman, Dan Moen, has been using media to uplift and amplify others, their experiences, and stories. Dan has three major projects he is currently working on. A podcast, a tv show, and a book! The recently launched podcast focuses on people having civil dialogue about heavy topics that impact us today. The tv show will focus on a wide diverse and inclusive cast, and focuses on a bi-racial Filipino and Black family during the mist of the pandemic. The book will be 30 stories from 30 different adoptees of color.

3rd Paradigm with Clarity & Nuance
The podcast has been recently launched on SoundCloud as wells as Spotify Podcasts and currently working on releasing it on all streaming platforms. Guests are invited to participate in a free panel style/round-table call from anywhere around the world and chat about heavy topics from racism, education, health including mental health, the pandemic, gender, orientations, and inner workings of the human mind. Guests have the option to participate anonymously with a fake name or themselves. Clarity & Nuance are the show's two main hosts and ask open ended questions for the panel to respond to. The show encourages those who disagree the most to participate.
Michigan Welcomes Diversity Panel
Macomb county recently did a panel focusing on immigrants who have settled in Macomb county. Dan was one of the speakers and got to share his story about settling in Macomb county and growing up among a non-diverse community.
Diversity TV SHOW
A quickly growing team is developing a potential television show that is the brain child of Dan Moen. The show will feature a wide range of characters and predominantly focus around people of color and other marginalized communities residing in Michigan. All the production team are primarily Michigan based. More information coming soon in regards to helping crowd fund the project, as well as casting calls and any updates.
30 Days with 30 Adoptees of Color Book
Being an adoptee himself, Dan has a passion for bringing people together and amplifying stories like his. In 30 Days with 30 Adoptees of Color, Dan interviews various adoptees from all around the world and listens to their stories. The book is designed to be read for a chapter per day, 1 month (aprox. 30 days). Stay tuned for more information.

Bridget McCormack for Michigan Supreme Court
By: Nikhil Sabharwal
One of CAPA’s own board members, Nikhil Sabharwal, started a new internship this month working for the re-election campaign for Chief Justice Bridget McCormack to the Michigan supreme court. His job right now entails making calls to Michigan voters to inform them on how to vote in the non- partisan section of the ballot. A surprising amount of voters tend to gloss over their ballots after just voting straight ticket especially since judicial elections run on non- partisan platforms. It is vital to the election for local representatives that the average voter stay informed. He also helps to inform voters on important initiatives that Chief Justice McCormack is running under such as the Justice For All Taskforce and the Governor’s Task Force on Jail and Pretrial reform...
