September is Suicide Prevention month

September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, September 5-11th is Suicide Prevention Week, and Friday September 10th is World Suicide Prevention Day.

Every person can play a role in suicide prevention by knowing the signs of suicide, finding the words to support a friend or family member, and by reaching out to and promoting local and national resources.

The Know the Signs campaign and the annual Suicide Prevention Week Toolkit provide effective ways and tools to promote suicide prevention across California communities.
