Next General Meeting - Save the Date!


Our next general meeting will be on Thursday, May 14, 4:00pm-6:00pm. It will be hosted by Aero Marine Biotech at 3109 North Kerr Avenue, Wilmington, NC. Tripp Jones will have a facility tour and useful presentations, including a report from Noah Swett, chairman of the UNCW student committee for "Project Meet and Listen". Light refreshments will be served.

Jon Barber


Wilmington Biz recently mentioned CFMP member, Jon Barber, in an article entitled,. "Schools Have Manufacturing Mentor". Mandy Mills, the school district’s CTE director, said Barber and Wilmington Grill have since become “a model of impactful, community-centered partnership.”


“As chair of our advisory council, Jon provides strong leadership while actively encouraging other employers to get involved,” Mills said. “He regularly invites students into Wilmington Grill for tours and has even modified shop equipment, so students and other visitors can better see and understand the manufacturing process. Mike Gawinski at UNCW


Mike Gawinski, part-time UNCW instructor, pictured here with founding president, Jackson Walser, was recently initiated into the Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity as faculty advisor.


Alpha Kappa Psi joined CFMP in November of last year and has already begun to help the partnership in "Project Meet and Listen" (with 30 volunteers!). The new business fraternity was recently granted a charter in a ceremony on UNCW campus.

CFCC Youth Summer Camps


CFCC offers great exploratory camps for 12-17 year olds specific to a trade or career. Topics include: Welding, HVAC, Electrical Assistant, Nurse Aide, Mechatronics/Robotics. Coming soon is AgScience.

Seating is limited and all registrations are done online. The child is the student and each child needs an email of their own. Parental consent will be completed on the first day of camp.
