GERHOLD LECTURE FEATURES BEST-SELLING AUTHOR
Best-selling author Dr. Daniel Mendelsohn will visit Capital University as this year’s Gerhold Lecture featured speaker.

Mendelsohn, author of the internationally best-selling family Holocaust saga “The Lost: A Search for Six of Six Million,” reflects on the tensions between oral narrative – such as the stories he heard while researching his book and the written accounts to which we so often turn in order to get the “facts” about history. Where do memory and history intersect, and what happens when they part ways? Using his own experiences as a researcher and writer, Mendelsohn explores the nuances of these and other questions, including how the history of the Holocaust will be written once those who were witnesses to the event have disappeared.
