Feed the Need bring over 25,000 pounds of Food for Kern County |
Kern County, you've done it again! We end Hunger Action Month with your generosity during our Feed the Need Food Drive which has resulted in 25,638 pounds of food donations, equating to roughly 21,412 meals.
Thank you for making Hunger Action Month a success!
This previous month, we at CAPK channeled our energy towards combating food insecurity in our county, and asked Kern County to join. Our community sure did, cities across the county proclaimed our mission and partners helped promote and volunteer our efforts in addressing hunger.
In 2023, our Food Bank nourished over 100,000 of our neighbors, and in 2024, that number has doubled to over 200,000. But with your support, we are fully confident that we can tackle food insecurity in Kern County head-on.

ASTHO and NCAP recently collaborated to highlight our work in an article published in the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice. This partnership is part of our ongoing efforts to advocate for stronger connections between public health, healthcare, and community action agencies, working together to improve the well-being of our communities. The article shares findings from community meetings held across Kern County, which were instrumental in providing vaccine access against COVID-19.
