On February 2, the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) will become the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA).
Our new name and logo reflect our expanded role regulating both Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides and our ongoing commitment to excellence in care across Alberta.

Complete Mandatory Module Before Renewal
LPNs are required to complete the CLPNA module, Protecting Patients from Sexual Abuse and Sexual Misconduct, by November 30, 2025.
If you have already completed this module, there is no need to take it again.
The Continuing Competence Program supports LPNs in achieving and demonstrating competence through the completion of activities that include learning and practice in the profession.
In anticipation of our transition to the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA), several key documents will be updated. Updates will reflect our new name and logo, with minor wording changes to align with existing CLPNA materials.
