SafeGen Student Wins National Competition

Congratulations Micah Griffin for taking first place at the CCOHS Focus on Safety Youth Video Contest!

Griffin, a grade-12 student at Koinonia Christian School in Olds, advanced to nationals after winning the provincial equivalent: The SafeGen Safety Video Contest. Together, the wins resulted in $4,500 for Griffin, and an additional $3000 for his school. When asked what he plans to do with the windfall, Griffin replied, “I think I’ll invest it, and maybe buy some new camera gear. I could see video production being a big part of my future.”

Through the SafeGen contest, additional prize money was awarded to the 2nd and 3rd place winners. Watch how surprised they were when we showed up at their schools last month with giant cheques!
