March was one of those months that reminded me why I believe so deeply in what we are building together at CARES.
Across four weeks of distribution, our volunteers welcomed hundreds of families through our doors, serving over 100 households on every single pantry day. Behind the scenes, our drivers were on the road before sunrise, our warehouse team was sorting and stocking with care, and our outreach team was out in the community making new connections and telling the CARES story.
We welcomed more than 50 volunteers from Huntington Bank, passed our county inspection with flying colors, and watched young students from Our Lady of Sorrows and Wood Creek Elementary show us that compassion has no age limit. Our friends from the Dawoodi Bohra community and Project Rise showed up with purpose and heart. And we had the joy of reconnecting with Sister Colette, the person whose vision started it all.
Planning is in full swing for our From Hunger to Hope Dinner on May 7 and the 2026 Duck Race on August 5. The energy around both events is already incredible.
Every week, new footprints are being left across this campus. They belong to all of you.
Thank you for walking this journey with us.
