The United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced the next distribution from the Provider Relief Fund was to be made beginning on April 24, 2020. HHS has setup a website with all the information on the Provider Relief Fund at:
The provider relief fund distributed $50 Billion as a general allocation to all Medicare facilities. The distribution as follows:
- $30 Billion was distributed beginning on Friday April 10, 2020. This initial allocation was distributed based on provider’s share of 2019 Medicare Fee for Service revenue.
- The remaining $20 Billion was distributed beginning on Friday April 24, 2020. This second allocation was calculated to ensure the full $50 Billion would be distributed based on provider’s share of 2018 net patient revenue as reported on the 2018 Medicare cost report.
All providers will be asked to attest to the receipt of the funds and agreement of the program terms and conditions.
As a reminder, funds received from the HHS Provider Relief Funds are not subject to the New York State Cash Receipts Assessment.
