Within the Caribbean, levels of productivity have also been on the decline and as such are likely to affect competitiveness, growth and ultimately development of the region. How do we resolve this innovation and productivity challenge? What options are available to policy makers? Taking these factors into consideration, our presenter Shernnel Thompson will provide us with some insights from his doctoral work – examining issues of productivity and innovation and presenting options and considerations for policy makers as they enhance economic development in the region. Shernnel Thompson is an Economist and Manager at the Research, Statistics and Data Analytics Department of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank and doctoral candidate at the University of Paris, Nanterre.
