CARTA Engages Partners and Stakeholders on Governance and Strategy in Nairobi

In the week of September 23 - 27, 2024, CARTA brought together its African and non-African partners, funders, and stakeholders in Nairobi, Kenya for a series of high-level engagements. Kicking off the eventful week was the 18th CARTA Partners Forum, held on September 23 and 24. The forum featured a review of the consortium’s performance over the past year and deliberations on future plans. CARTA partners also participated in the election of Board Members for the 2025-2026 period, as well as the selection of fellows for the program’s eleventh cohort.

On September 24, the CARTA team brought together its Board of Management and Funders to dialogue on funding strategies and priority areas. The Stakeholders Retreat on September 25 and 26 provided a space for reflection and strategic discussions. As part of the week’s engagements, CARTA hosted a cocktail reception offering an opportunity for networking and reflection on the consortium’s impact. Guests benefitted from the sharing of ideas, experiences, and testimonials. The week culminated in the 30th Board of Management meeting on September 27, which focused on orienting new Board members and addressing key strategic matters. Additionally, CARTA's newly constituted Board elected a new board chairperson - Christopher Joseph Odhiambo, Moi University who has replaced Adamson Muula of the Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS).
