COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS IN ACTION
During the months of July and August,
Carver Center distributed
16,919
breakfasts and lunches to Port Chester Children through the Summer Food Service Program.

Our community partner, Caritas, provided
6,467
weekend meals to families at the Friday distributions.

Thanks to the great staff at Edison, our Carver Teen,
Kay-Sian Findley, who helped collect the data, all the staff at Caritas,
and our Carver Market staff for preparing and delivering the meals
to the Edison School every weekday.
CARVER MARKET BY THE NUMBERS
In the month of August, the Carver Market served
1,259 households and fed approximately
4,198 individuals in those households.

Food from Caritas, Feeding Westchester and
St. Francis A.M.E. Zion Church made this possible.

The Carver Market continues to be a vital resource to Port Chester.
We will continue to look for ways to increase our capacity to be able supplement our community’s need for food in the upcoming months
when new challenges will be faced as the seasons changes.

Carver Center would like to thank the
Albertsons' Companies Foundation’s Nourishing Neighbors Program for their support of the Carver Center’s response
to food insecurity in Port Chester.
Their generous support assisted Carver in providing meals to
Port Chester students this summer as well as providing
emergency food support through the Carver Market.

DONATION OF BAGS FOR OUR CARVER MARKET
Carver volunteer, Dr. Jessica Berkowitz, arranged for 11,000 conference bags to be donated to the Carver Market. 
The bags were initially intended to be used at the
American Academy of Cardiology's 2020 event.
When the conference was cancelled, Dr. Berkowitz reached
out to her contacts for the generous donation, which also included the shipping costs for the truckload of boxes.
CARVER BOOK FAIR
Our Book Fair on August 19 was a wonderful success today thanks to Maureen Karle, her son, Brian and the volunteers from Turning Pages!

and for supporting our efforts!

EVERY PERSON COUNTS!
It was all smiles for 49 local children
at our 2 week - Mini Summer Experience.

Fun & Fitness, Let's Dance, Girl Time and Summer Reading Support were just some of the great activities offered.
