You are receiving this CAS Technical Alert because the below situation involves one of the scan tools we show as being used in your business. Please read the below notice and advise the appropriate employees of this situation. If you no longer own or use this tool please advise us via e-mail and we will discontinue sending you any further Tech Alerts on this scan tool.

Notice Date: July 25th, 2025


Product Affected: Hyundai Factory Tool

 

Condition: Hyundai tool users may receive a cybersecurity message on their screens warning of a pending software shut down of certain model Samsung tablets. If your Samsung tablet is not part of the Active4Pro series, you will experience an operational shut down within the next 2 months. Hyundai Tech Support states that even thought the screen notice mentions an August 4th deadline, that's for franchised dealers. The aftermarket will not be affected until late September.


Actions To Take: To verify your model number, swipe up from the screen bottom, then select the 'Settings' icon, click on 'About Tablet' icon near the screen bottom and you'll see your model number listed. You should see wording such as 'Galaxy Active4Pro'. If you have an Active4Pro model, you are good to go!


If you have an older version, you will need a replacement tablet within the next 45 days to continue to use the Hyundai application. Call your CAS Rep and ask him to order you a replacement tablet and have your license transferred.


NOTE: This issue does not affect KIA or Genesis factory tooling at this time.
