January is National Mentoring Month and it’s the time of year where engagement from community members interested in becoming mentors is the highest. Interested adults are encouraged to turn their concern for young people into direct action by becoming mentors. “Caring, consistent adult mentors can mean the difference between success and struggle for children and young adults. They need to know there are adults who are going to stay with them throughout their journey in the foster care system and help them cope with what is happening.” (Emily Nader, CASA Coordinator in Gila County, Az.)
