A MESSAGE FROM JUDGE FRANK SULLIVAN
National Adoption Month

November is National Adoption Month, a time to raise awareness about the need for thousands of children to be adopted from foster care. Considering that we celebrate Thanksgiving this month in which we give thanks for the love of our families, I can’t think of a more appropriate time to highlight the need for finding a loving, nurturing and permanent home for every child in foster care. Adoption is a celebration of selfless, simple love. It’s choosing your family and giving children without a family a home filled with love. “During National Adoption Month, we recognize birth families who make the difficult decision to place their children up for adoption, commend foster parents who care for children from different backgrounds, and celebrate adoptive parents who open their families to those children in need”, Presidential Proclamation. A MESSAGE FROM THE CASA FOUNDATION

Like most everything this year, our annual Angel Tree event will look and feel a little different, but the mission remains the same – providing gifts for every child in foster care this holiday season. Planning this event, with all the unknowns due to COVID19, our amazing planning team embraces flexibility, creativity, and passion. Every child will receive gifts or a gift card valued at $50, and this year, more than most, providing these gifts will make a difference in their holiday season. We want to thank our fantastic planning team, our generous sponsors and donors, the City of Las Vegas, and Cashman Center for the location for distribution.

We will start assembling the gift bags this week, with distribution held on December 13th and 14th from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. We are closely following the governor’s orders and working to ensure all our staff, volunteers, and families stay safe and healthy during the coming weeks while preparing for the big days!

This event has been a consistent celebration for more than 20 years. Although this year the party has been sidelined, the celebration and recognition of our exceptional children are not. We can still use your support. Please consider a donation to the Angel Tree Fund on our website. 100% of your donation will be spent on making kids a little happier and life a little brighter for them in this unexpected year.
