Child Advocates is Proud to Announce Three New Board Members!
South Bay residents Arlene Chan, Terese Kemble and Neta Retter recently joined Child Advocates' Board of Directors.

"Child Advocates is fortunate to have Arlene, Terese and Neta join our board at a time when we are scaling our program to serve more foster children with a CASA,” says Frederick J. Ferrer, CEO of Child Advocates of Silicon Valley.

"Their expertise in accounting, HR and computer engineering combined with their dedication, enthusiasm and commitment to our community’s children and youth will be invaluable as we work toward our goal to serve 1,000 children in foster care with a CASA in fiscal year 2020.”

County Foster Youth Celebrate at 2 nd Annual
Graduation Event
More than 70 Santa Clara County current and former foster youth were honored in June 2019 for graduating from High School, obtaining a GED, earning a Vocational Program Certificate, Associate Degree, Bachelor and/or Master’s Degree in the 2018-2019 academic year.

Foster youth were treated to a special night at Levi’s stadium that included an awards ceremony and dinner. The celebration was hosted by the County’s Department of Family and Children’s Services, Child Advocates of Silicon Valley, the Bill Wilson Center, Pivotal, and the San Francisco 49ers.
Human Rights Campaign Foundation Recognizes Child Advocates
Child Advocates is thrilled to be one of 70 organizations across the country recognized by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation for our work with LGBTQ foster youth.

Child Advocates is included in the HRC's "Celebrating Everyday Change-Makers in Child Welfare" report, which highlights the 70 agencies across the country that partnered with the HRC Foundation's All Children - All Families (ACAF) project to improve the services they provide to the LGBTQ community.

"We are honored to be recognized as a leader serving the LGBTQ foster youth, especially at a time when LGBTQ youth are over-represented in the foster care system," said Child Advocates CEO Frederick J. Ferrer.
