Announcing: CASA Resources, a New Section of our Website
Introducing CASA Resources, a brand-new section of our website to help our Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) get all the information they need to serve foster children. This new section includes resources for a dozen issue areas from  Early Childhood (ages 0 to 5)  to  Non-Minor Dependents (18 and up)  and nearly everything in-between.
2017 Annual Report
We are pleased to share with you our FY17 Annual Report, featuring the Fisher family. When Steven and Veronica Fisher lost custody of their daughters due to drug and alcohol abuse, they sought help.

After completing a court mandated rehabilitation program, they regained custody of their girls and consider their Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Susan, family. Theirs is a story of inspiration and hope.
Community Events
Save the Date: Art Boutique Nov. 17 & 18 to Benefit Child Advocates
Los Altos artist (and current CASA) Midori Adams will host her annual Archangel Holiday Boutique featuring 35 Bay Area artists to benefit Child Advocates of Silicon Valley. The boutique will be held at Peninsula Hope Church (599 Jefferson Ave, Redwood City, CA 94063), on Friday, November 17 th and 18 th from 10am - 5pm.

Wine, Women, and Shoes a Big Success g
Nearly 300 women (and a few men) gathered at Villa Montalvo on Oct. 8th for an afternoon of sipping, shopping, entertainmentand fun.

Thanks to our community's generosity, we were able to raise $160,000 for our CASA program. It was such a good time, we're planning to host it again next year!

32nd Annual ThetaRun Raise over $32,000 for Child Advocates
Special thanks to the Stanford Thetas for holding their annual ThetaBreakers Run/Walk for the Children event Oct.15th. Nearly 300 people registered for the race to benefit foster youth. Child Advocates' Executive Director Karen Scussel spoke before the race about our mission and purpose.

Board News
Former PwC Executive Joins Board
After 20 years at PwC and a lifetime split between Europe and the US, Annamaria Rapakko has joined Child Advocates' board of directors to make a difference in the lives of foster children in Silicon Valley. A native of Finland, Annamaria brings extraordinary experience in tax law and fundraising to support the work of Child Advocates of Silicon Valley.
On November 28th, Child Advocates will participate in Giving Tuesday, a philanthropic day of giving to benefit nonprofits. We'll share inspiring stories throughout the day featuring foster children who have benefited from having a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA).

´╗┐Our board of directors has generously offered to match all donations made on November 28th up to $15,000. That means your gift will go twice as far! We hope you will consider making a gift to support the foster children we serve.
