Meet our new Outreach and Recruitment Manager Angela Daughtry!
Angela Daughtry loves CASA! So much so, this former Senior Program Coordinator in the AV office, returned to us to fulfill the role of Manager of Outreach and Recruitment. Angela was born in Los Angeles and obtained both her Bachelor and Master’s degrees from Eastern Michigan University. Professionally, Angela has over 10 years of experience with Child Welfare and Advocacy. In addition to her work with CASA of Los Angeles, she was the Lead Advocacy Coordinator for Savannah Chatham CASA and the VP of the Board of Directors for Savannah Working Against Human Trafficking before she focused her work on juvenile probation for Chatham County, GA. Angela’s passion for working with youth and diverse professional journey has given her fresh enthusiasm for promoting the mission of CASA! Angela’s personal goals include visiting all of the U. S. Capital Buildings and to grow her photography business, Enkindle Project.

Thank You to Some Amazing CASAs!
We want to give a special shout out to Sharon Sonnett and Terry Ross for including CASA/LA in Fancy Feet Dance Studio 's Our Gift of Light recital. It was an inspiring day of dance and community, and raised a significant amount of funding for our programming!  

We are also incredibly grateful for all those who will be running for CASA/LA at the LA Big 5K on Saturday, March 7th. Please consider donating to one of our many CASA volunteers' and supporters' fundraising pages as they put their feet to the pavement for the most vulnerable children in LA County!
For CASA Youth
Glamour Gowns ​and Suit Up
Saturday, March 28, 2020 at the LA Convention Center. 
Youth in LA County's foster care system can receive a new, customized dress or suit and accessories for no cost at this impactful event! Open to all youth age 15+ who are or have been in foster care in Los Angeles County, Glamour Gowns and Suit Up welcomes youth to register for a dress or suit regardless of their sex or gender. This event is not open to the public and you must register ahead of time. Please make your reservations by  Friday, March 20, 2020  at  casala.org/ggsu . 
We are also still in need of volunteers to assist in a variety of ways, particularly men to help out in the boys area and tailors to do minor alterations and hemming. To learn more about our current volunteer opportunities, please visit our website at bit.ly/GGSUVolunteer .

Youth Writing Contest _ The Chronicle for Social Change

Writing contest specifically for youth ages 18-26 with experience in the foster care or juvenile justice systems, located anywhere in the United States. Winners will have the opportunity to have their essays published in The Chronicle of Social Change as well as our print magazine, Fostering Families Today. The grand prize winner will receive $250 cash, one runner up will get $100 cash, and 3 finalists will each receive a $50 gift card. For more info click here . Deadline March 24.
Camp Bob Waldorf

Registration is now open for Camp Bob Waldorf . CBW is a non-denominational residential camp located in Verdugo Hills serving youth in grades 3-9. Camp Bob Waldorf fosters growth and development in a fun, safe, and nurturing environment.
