Quality Advancement in Nursing Education - Avancées en formation infirmière is issuing a call for submissions for the upcoming special issue on planetary health and well-being in nursing education. We encourage submissions from a diversity of perspectives and types of contributions, including empirical or theoretical papers, descriptions of practices, testimonies with reflective analyses, and analytical comments.

2024 Annual Pat Griffin Research Grant
CASN is offering two Pat Griffin Research Grants to support research that addresses the research priority of “Nursing Education Outcomes” from the National Research Priorities for Nursing. There will be two grants available per calendar year each worth $15,000. The principal investigator must be faculty at a CASN member school.

L’ACESI offre deux subventions de recherche Pat Griffin pour soutenir la recherche qui aborde la priorité « Résultats de la formation infirmière » des Priorités nationales en matière de recherche infirmière. Deux subventions (chacune d’un montant de 15 000 $) seront offertes par année civile. La chercheure principale doit appartenir au corps professoral d’une école membre de l’ACESI.

CASN francophone and bilingual accreditation reviewers
CASN is seeking full-time francophone and bilingual nursing faculty members to fulfill this important role for baccalaureate and nurse practitioner accreditation programs.
Potential accreditation reviewers for this call are:
-
recommended by the heads of their respective school;
-
recently involved in teaching or administering the respective programs;
- experienced teachers with at least five years in a program in nursing;
-
actively involved in nursing scholarship (if applying for a role with baccalaureate, internationally educated nurse, and nurse practitioner programs);
-
comfortable working in French or English; and
- educated with at least a master’s degree in nursing.

L'ACESI recherche des membres du corps professoral infirmier à temps plein, francophones et bilingues, pour combler ce rôle important lié aux programmes d’agrément de baccalauréat, d’infirmières praticiennes, d’infirmières formées à l’étranger et d’infirmières auxiliaires.
Les évaluatrices doivent :
- être recommandé pour ce rôle par la principale responsable de leur école ;
- avoir récemment pris part à l’enseignement ou à l’administration des programmes respectifs ;
-
être enseignantes chevronnées et détenir au moins cinq (5) années d’expérience au sein d’un programme de sciences infirmières ;
- participer activement à l’avancement des connaissances infirmières (pour les demandes liées au programme d’agrément de baccalauréat, d’infirmières formées à l’étranger ou d’infirmières praticiennes) ;
- être à l’aise à l’idée de travailler/communiquer en anglais ou en français, et
- être titulaire d’au moins une maîtrise en sciences infirmières.

Purpose: To fund a graduate (master’s or doctoral) student's research project focusing on clinical practice education ($5,000).

Attend our Doctoral Programs Financial Aid Q & A and Workshop
A graduate education from Bloomberg Nursing at the University of Toronto, prepares nurses to improve access to quality health care through innovative research and evidence-based knowledge translation. The programs enrich leadership skills in graduates and build their capacity to influence health policy and nursing practice at a local, national, and global level.
Our PhD program builds on a theoretical foundation in nursing science and teaches graduates to conduct research studies of relevance and importance to nursing science. The program also contributes to the continuation of excellent nursing education of both undergraduate and graduate students and boasts notable alumni including Canada’s Chief Nursing Officer Leigh Chapman and Ontario’s Chief of Nursing and Professional Practice Karima Velji.
The Doctor of Nursing program is designed to prepare graduates for roles in executive leadership, mid-and senior level leadership in government, and teaching roles in nursing education. It provides a formal academic structure, to those looking to advance their nursing career and includes two internship opportunities as well as a thesis-based project that invites students to investigate a challenge and propose actionable strategies that address the problem.
Applications for both programs are now open. The deadline to apply is April 30, 2024, but early applications are recommended.
The University of Toronto offers an Indigenous Tuition Waiver to eligible graduate students from nine identified First Nations Communities in Ontario, who are not in a funded program. This would apply to applicants to the Doctor of Nursing program.
