An innovative team approach developed from the challenges of COVID-19
Necessity is the mother of invention. Rising COVID-19 case numbers in Alberta necessitated MacEwan University to transition our second-year clinical nursing course to a virtual domain. It is hard to know what will come from an idea; often, ideas float away, sometimes disappoint us, or evolve into something greater than we could have imagined. Our dynamic team was fortunate to have experienced the evolution of something greater. Due to our course team's incredible collaboration and creativity, we successfully launched an innovative clinical simulation-based learning experience.
