DISCOVER THE LAW |
Discover the Law is a legal education program comprised of a series of 40+ workshops on law-related topics. It is designed to educate students about their rights and responsibilities, inform them about different areas of law, provide tips on how to jump start their career whether in law or another profession, and teach practical ways to stay savvy and safe.
All currently-registered UC San Diego students, including graduate and professional students, are invited to participate in Discover the Law, regardless of academic or professional interests. This is a great opportunity for students thinking of applying to law school, but students need not be considering a career in law to participate. Discover the Law is not offered for academic credit.
You may wish to participate in Discover the Law because: * By attending just four of the 41 workshops on 36 different topics, you will earn a certificate that demonstrates your commitment to learning more about the law and law-related issues. * You will gain practical knowledge that will help you avoid legal problems. * You will enhance your resume or graduate school application. * You will get to connect with professionals and other students interested in law and law-related topics. * It's free, and you don't have to leave campus to participate! Workshop topics include criminal law, tenant's rights, the law school application process, employee rights, traffic citations, patent law and many more! Sign up now for available workshops!

UC SAN DIEGO - RETURN TO LEARN |
The Return to Learn Program is a voluntary student program that screens for active SARS-CoV-2 virus, the virus that causes COVID-19 disease. If you choose to participate, you will be helping potentially reduce the risks of COVID-19 outbreaks and making our UC San Diego community a healthier place.
In this initial phase, in May 2020, SARS-CoV-2 testing was be made available to resident undergraduate and graduate students currently residing on campus. Participation is voluntary, but all eligible students are encouraged to participate, and there will be no cost to the students who choose to participate.
The Return to Learn Program is for asymptomatic student volunteers only. If you are having COVID-19 symptoms (shortness of breath, cough, fever, chills, loss of smell or taste), please call Student Health Services at 858-534-3300. At this time UC San Diego is not able to accommodate students who do not reside in on-campus housing, nor families of students who may also live on campus. They hope to expand testing in the future so that we can accommodate many more groups.

TRITON TOOLS & TIDBITS PODCAST
|
The sudden shift to a remote learning environment due to the COVID-19 pandemic has forced UC San Diego students to adapt to new ways of learning and connecting away from the traditional campus setting.
Triton Tools & Tidbits is a podcast that is focused on discussing topics that will engage and enrich student life and education. Brought to you by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs.
- How can we as a campus community support each other, and our students, to succeed in this unique environment?
- What tools do students need to succeed in an era of physical distancing?
- How can students maintain connectivity to their networks in a remote environment, sustaining a sense of community while in a non-traditional campus environment?
Every Thursday, Triton Tools and Tidbits seeks to answer these questions while highlighting resources available to students across Student Affairs units and the UC San Diego campus community.
