Happy Week 10! Our fall quarter is almost done and with finals around the corner, we want to wish all of our scholars good luck! Whether this is your first round of finals or your last, we know you all will do your best! Please make sure to care of yourselves and take breaks! Our office will be open during finals week! If you need a place to study, print out final papers, or get some extra blue books or scantrons, come by and say hello!

HACU, Neutrogena®, Inc. Scholarship


The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities is partnering with Neutrogena to award three $5,000 scholarships to eligible undergraduate and graduate students. 



The Neutrogena® #RealSkinRealResults Scholarships are available to students in all majors who meet the following eligibility criteria:

 

• Be a full-time graduate or undergraduate student

• Must be attending a four-year HACU-member institution

• GPA: 3.0 or higher

• All citizenship status

 The Point Foundation is offering a scholarship called the Point Flagship Scholarship. This scholarship is open to undocumented LGBTQ students (with and without DACA) in both undergraduate and graduate school! “The Point Flagship Scholarship empowers LGBTQ students who are earning their undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees at accredited colleges in the United States. The Flagship Scholarship is for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer students earning a degree.”

2023 UCSD Chicano Alumni Scholarship

The UCSD Chicano Alumni Scholarship Fund was established to recognize currently enrolled UCSD students who have participated in MEChA at UCSD and/or in community service opportunities that have benefited the Chicano community. There will be two recipients selected for the Scholarship Award: a $3,000 Scholarship and a $2,000 Scholarship. Scholarships will be presented at an event during the Cesar Chavez Program, scheduled to take place during the Spring Quarter.


Eligibility:

  • Applicants must be enrolled full time in UCSD.
  • Applicants must be in good academic standing, Undergraduates with at least a 2.0 Grade Point Average, Graduate/Professional school students with at least a 3.0 Grade Point Average.
  • Applicants must have participated in MEChA at UCSD and/or have documentation of community service, e.g., a letter from the community organization, in support of the Chicano community.



Application Procedure:

The applicant must submit the following materials, via email, to UCSD Chicano Alumni Assn. Scholarship Committee at ucsdchicanoalumni.scholarship@gmail.com, by February 1st, 2023

Virtual Appointments

Flu Shots at the Rec Gym

The University of California has issued a Policy on Vaccination Programs requiring all students, faculty, other academic appointees and staff who are living, learning or working on premises at any University facility to (i) receive Vaccine Education concerning influenza and vaccination as a preventive measure; and (ii) receive or affirmatively decline influenza vaccination. The Compliance date for UC San Diego, is Friday, Nov. 18, 2022.

Flu Vaccination Appointments are available in Recreation Gym (located between Main Gym and Tata Hall). There is no cost for the flu vaccine for students regardless of insurance coverage.

Document an influenza vaccine received outside of UC San Diego by going to “preventative care” from the menu or main page of the MyStudentChart site.
