Greetings CASP,


Happy March! We hope that your year has been off to a great start. Whether you’re buried in assignments or just trying to stay on top of everything, remember to take it one day at a time. Keep your goals in view, but pace yourself—progress is progress, no matter how small. This month, focus on what you can control, and don’t forget that it’s okay to take breaks and recharge along the way. We’re here for you! To make things easier, we’ve pulled together a bunch of events and opportunities. You got it!


We are open! Come by and say hello to our new office located on the 3rd floor of Center Hall (through Door E & F). We have free printing, a dry kitchen, and a study space open Mon - Fri from 9 am - 5 pm.

Financial Aid Deadline Update

To support students and families who are still experiencing difficulties completing their financial aid applications, CSAC will extend the 2025-2026 priority financial aid application deadline from March 3 to April 2, 2025. This applies to FAFSA, California Dream App, and the 2025-2026 Continuing Student Scholarship application.

📍/⏰ Day 1: Friday, April 4 @ 5-7:30 PM in the Dolores Huerta Room

📍/⏰ Day 2: Saturday, April 5 @ 1-5 PM in the Stage Room


Health Summit is PUSH’s annual health fair where folks can network with health professionals, ranging from medical students, graduate students, and researchers in health fields like medicine, public health, physician’s assistant, and more! Our professional guests will also be holding panels where attendees can ask questions concerning their career path, advice they'd give to others, etc. We also hold more hands-on workshops, like learning how to take patient vitals and learning how to suture. Health Summit will be across two days this year, and anyone can register and attend, regardless of PUSH membership or Filipino identity! It’s a great opportunity to network with health and STEM professionals and meet like-minded undergraduate students here at UCSD, so make sure to register ASAP through the QR code in our flyer (also available on Instagram @pushucsd)! Are you questioning your gender? Do you need a space to discuss your gender identity with others who may be going through the same thing? This group allows students to explore their thoughts and feelings related to their gender identity.


Join this group to build community, share experiences, and get support while navigating the world outside the gender binary. No matter where you are on the gender spectrum, you are welcome here! This CAPS group is cofacilitated with our STRIDE coordinators.


Queer Community Connections

Queer Community Connections

Tuesdays | 1-2 PM | Cross Cultural Center


The Queer Community Connections group is a place to meet and gain support while discussing your sexual and/or gender identities in a confidential setting. This group is for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, asexual, intersex, and people questioning their sexual or gender identity.


Topics are determined by group participants and can include queer joy, life stressors, sociopolitical climate, family/cultural issues, etc. This CAPS group is cofacilitated with our STRIDE coordinators.


Queer Community Connections for Graduate and Professional Students

Wednesdays | 4-5:15 PM | Cross Cultural Center


This in-person connections space exists to create space for community development and to foster a sense of belonging. The content is guided by community members and often focuses on Queer issues and/or general graduate and professional student issues.


Examples include personal and professional relationships, Queer topics in academia and media, intersectionality, minority stress and coping with Imposter Syndrome. Conversations will be facilitated by Dr David Kersey.

Care at SARC: Yoga as Healing Support Group

Yoga as Healing Support Group Registration Open


⏰ Time:  Winter and Spring Weeks 2-9, Thursdays at 4:30pm


This eight-week yoga series for student survivors of sexual trauma explores reconnection to the mind and body. This program provides a means for participants to connect to their bodies and allows them to explore the benefits of mindfulness, guided practice and meditation. No prior yoga experience is necessary to participate and all supplies are provided.

Tyler Center Fellowship

The Tyler Center for Global Studies offers students offer fellowship opportunities to conduct their own independent research abroad. Students participating in the fellowship receive $5,000 for international travel while conducting their research project. The mission is to cultivate a community of Global Scholars who shape the future through research, innovation and collaboration.

Students for Economic Justice Internship





Students for Economic Justice (SEJ) is a full-time six week, paid summer internship program dedicated to train undergraduate students to become leaders and organizers in the San Diego region. Interns are placed at labor unions and community organizations to gain hands-on organizing experience in ongoing economic justice campaigns. The program runs from June 23 - August 1, 2025.

2025 OCA-UPS Gold Mountain Scholarships

OCA-Asian Pacific American Advocates, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization advancing the social, political, and economic well-being of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (AANHPIs), is offering a scholarship opportunity for AANHPI students. Here is more information:


  • $2,500 scholarships will be awarded to 4 undergraduate students who will be starting their final year of college/university or community college this fall.
  • Applicants DO NOT need to be a U.S. citizen. DACA students or undocumented students must have a Social Security Number or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number.
  • Apply before Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at 11:59 PM PT.

JL Scholarship

Supporting individuals whose families have been affected by incarceration and are motivated to develop skills to benefit their future employment.


The JL Scholarship Fund provides assistance to individuals who have been incarcerated, or have had an immediate family member incarcerated, and who are seeking training to develop skills that will enhance their employment opportunities, enabling them to better support themselves and their families. Applicants must plan to attend an accredited nonprofit college, university, or training institution after which they will have learned new skills, acquired new certifications, or attained a higher level of academic achievement directly related to their future employment opportunities.


Scholarship awards are typically between $1,000 and $3,000 per applicant annually. If an award is made, the scholarship may be renewable until the completion of the training or certificate, up to 2 years. Students must begin their training within 12 months of receiving an award.

Celebration Student Essay Contest

Current UC San Diego undergraduate, graduate, and professional school students are eligible to submit applications and essays. Recipients are eligible to receive a ticket to attend the APIAHC Kick-off event on May 1, 2025, campus recognition, and a scholarship (subject to Financial Aid approval) of $1500 (top prize) or $1000 (all other awards).

PATHways Student Assistant

2025 JACL National Scholarship Program

The Japanese American Citizens League (JACL) announced that the 2025 National Scholarship and Awards Program is now underway. The JACL annually offers approximately 30 college scholarships for students who are incoming college freshmen, undergraduates and graduates, and those specializing in law and the creative/performing arts. There are also financial aid scholarships for those demonstrating a need for financial assistance.  


Scholarship Program guidelines, instructions, and applications have been posted on the JACL website, www.jacl.org, and can be accessed by clicking the “Youth” tab on the menu bar.
