CASTA Membership Poll
Help us help you! We're looking for your projects and stories of your riders and employees. The stories and project information will be used in an educational campaign helping folks understand how different transit looks in each community and region in Colorado and by the group running the statewide sales tax for transportation funding.

As a bonus, every poll entry is an automatic submission for this years special CASTA award category: Most Heartwarming Transit story. Answer the final question of the poll, and be automatically entered!
Make your room reservations NOW for the fall RIBTC Conference and
Colorado Day Event!
Whether you plan to attend the 2018 CASTA/CDOT Colorado Transit Day, the Rural Public and Intercity Bus Transportation Conference, or both, we have a room block set up at the conference/transit day hotel, the Beaver Run Resort and Spa.

The hotel block offers 7 types of rooms to choose from but please note the refund policy is less flexible than past hotels. Visit the CASTA website for full details about making the reservation that works best for you.
Legislative Update: Senate Bill 1
CASTA is was a vital member of a broad coalition of local government, transportation industry and advocacy organizations that came together this year to pass SB18-001 Transportation Infrastructure Funding -- the first critical step in taking care of Colorado’s transportation network. Known as SB1, the bipartisan bill passed in the 2018 legislative session and was signed into law earlier this month. The bill creates two years of secure funding for transportation, and potential funding for a bonding program for the next 20 years.  Increased revenue from the recently enacted Federal tax cut will provide the additional funding through General Fund transfers.

Statewide Transportation Funding Ballot Initiative Update
Since 2010, CASTA has been working with a bipartisan statewide coalition of business leaders, mayors and transportation advocates to put together a statewide transportation funding ballot initiative. We are pleased to report that this year the process has been successful, and you can look for Ballot Initiative # 153 on your ballot this November.

Many thanks to this month's enewsletter sponsor, Cummins Engines!
