Pastor Kevin continued his series on the Book of Jonah this past Sunday. Jonah: God's Divine Intervention. Why does God choose to intervene in our lives?
> To TEST the things I am trusting in (vs 5). In the moment of testing, we realize that temporal things don't matter.
> To WAKE me up (vs 5-6). Sin in our lives will effect others around us and God will wake us up & get our attention.
> To EXPOSE what is true (vs 7-8). God will use whatever means necessary to expose what is true (our sin & our identity).
> To DRAW me to repentance (vs 11-14). Divine intervention draws in believers and unbelievers.
> To RESCUE me (vs 15-17). When believers run, God seeks us out to rescue us - Jesus is our ultimate Savior.
Divine intervention is not punishment, it's discipline (full of grace and purpose). We are all in need of God's divine intervention. The only hope we have in our lives is Jesus Christ. Will you choose to be rescued? Pray that God will give you a discerning spirit.
