CBC is rocking with two new NIH R01 grants totaling $3.06M awarded this month to CBC faculty. One grant was awarded to Prof. Steve Schwartz ($1.97M), and a second one to Prof. Michael Brown ($1.09M). The other big news is that Dr. Michael Marty from the University of Oxford will be joining CBC this summer as our newest Assistant Professor. Michael is an analytical chemist who works on developing mass spectrometry methods to study the structure and biophysics of membrane proteins. Last but not least, we congratulate the nine student winners of the 7th Biological, Engineering, and Chemical Undergraduate Research (BECUR) conference held last month in the Koffler building. Enjoy!
