Celebrating 40 Years of Advocacy: CBHA Becomes the California Behavioral Health Association!
We are thrilled to announce an exciting milestone for our organization! CBHA has officially rebranded as the California Behavioral Health Association, a name that reflects our commitment to representing and advancing the behavioral health needs of Californians across the lifespan.
This year, 2025, marks 40 years of CBHA shaping behavioral health policy, and we are filled with gratitude as we honor our founder, Rusty Selix, whose vision and leadership laid the foundation for our continued work. Today, our diverse members proudly serve over 2 million Californians, providing life-changing behavioral health services to communities across the state.
As we look ahead, we are excited to share our 2025 Policy Platform, which prioritizes funding equity, access to care, and the integration of behavioral health services. This platform will guide our advocacy efforts to ensure every Californian can access the care they need and deserve.
To commemorate our anniversary, we will be looking back and honoring 40 “Behavioral Health Stars” who have lit the path for so many in our community. Stay tuned as we begin unveiling our Stars in March. The “Top Stars” across all award categories will be by YOU and will be unveiled in a special “Behavioral Health Hall of Fame” ceremony in the Fall.
