Please join us for our annual Holiday Shows on Friday, December 19, at 7 pm and Saturday, December 20, at 5 and 7 p.m. in our studio theater. The shows are fun and festive, and we promise to help you get in the holiday spirit!

Performances will include work by our adult tap, hip hop, and contemporary repertory groups, Portland Youth Dance, the Pine State Breakers, and the following CBM classes: Breaking 2 (Friday performance only), Ballet 4/5, Hip Hop 6, Jazz 4/5, Modern 4, Modern 5, and Tap 4.



Tickets are general admission ($15) and can be purchased online only beginning December 1st on a first-come, first-served basis.

The snow date is Sunday, December 21.

Peek Week | December 15-20

We have been working hard and having loads of fun in the classrooms this fall! We are excited to invite caregivers into their dancers' classrooms the week of December 15th through the 20th to view the last 15 minutes of class. You are welcome to take photos or videos of your dancer. Please don't share images of other dancers on social media or other platforms without permission. We appreciate your support!

***7-week sessions will invite caregivers into the classroom on their final class meeting of session 2.***

Faculty On Stage!

Savana Swan will perform in USM's Fall Dance Concert, which runs from December 5-7. The show is directed by CBM teaching artist, Jessie Laurita-Spanglet and features choreography by CBM teaching artists, Vanessa Beyland, Kristen Stake, Holly Taylor and Hannah Wasielewski. Tickets available here.

What have we been up to this fall?

Portland Youth Dancers have had a busy fall; attending Rennie Harris Puremovement at Westbrook Performing Arts Center, performing locally at events such as the Monster Mash Bash for the University Neighborhood Association in Portland, Fall into Art at Collective Motion Arts Center in Saco, and the Massachusetts High School Dance Festival at Salem State University. Since September, PYD dancers have been privileged to learn work from guest choreographers, including Ro Deserve, SYREN Modern Dance, Viki Perreault, Mia Muntu, Vanessa Beyland, Holly Taylor, Arianna Bainter-Clark, Dani Crosta, and Kate Whalen. In addition, they have taken masterclasses and workshops with Rennie Harris Puremovement, SYREN Modern Dance, Slaughterhouse Crew, Kizuna Dance, and Fundamental Skillz.

Inclement Weather Policy:

In the event of weather cancellations, we will post on our website, Facebook & Instagram, and television channels 6, 8, and 13, and leave an announcement on our voicemail. We do not always close if Portland Public Schools are closed. Please don’t hesitate to use your discretion if we are open for class and your family is uncomfortable with the commute.

Make-up classes for studio closures can be arranged at our front desk. Adults may use their class punch cards for any regular class on the adult drop-in class schedule at any time.
