CBP Extends ACAS Vague and Unacceptable Description Rejection Deadline
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has extended its rejection of vague descriptions for the Air Cargo Advance Screening (ACAS) compliance deadline to Nov. 12. The intention for delay is to give the industry additional time to work toward full compliance. CBP expects to see ongoing improvement in eliminating vague descriptions for the enhanced ACAS filings throughout October. NCBFAA understands the vague description warning messages will continue to help support industry compliance. There will be no further extensions to this deadline after Nov. 12.
The agency had originally planned to issue rejections starting Oct. 7. CBP will release a CSMS to the trade regarding this change shortly.
For questions about the implementation of this change in ACAS, contact ntcacasonboarding@cbp.dhs.gov, while technical questions may be sent to your assigned CBP Client Representative.
