Over the last two days, the team in Amman have been busy transporting a lorry load of archaeological remains from the institute to the new
Wadi Faynan 16 museum
in southern Jordan.
At CBRL’s Kenyon Institute in East Jerusalem we welcomed new Deputy Director, Dr Toufic Haddad earlier this week. Director Mandy Turner and Toufic have been busy working with partners at the Educational Bookshop and British Council Palestine on a forthcoming literary festival in November –

This weekend
Alta'ir
, the creative literary exchange between Jordan and the north-east of England of which CBRL is a partner along with Durham Book Festival, St Mary's College Durham, Dr Fadia Faqir and the British Council, will be the topic of discussion at Durham Book Festival. Jordanian writer,
Mofleh Al Adwan and British poet Linda France will share their experience of the creative residency swap and discuss their writing.

Timing the earlier Holocene of the Levant
From 2015-2016 Piotr Jacobsson spent a year at the CBRL institutes researching the limitations of extant radiocarbon data from the Levant over the period 9,500-5,500 cal BC (calibrated radiocarbon year BC) and identifying areas where new methods and concepts will aid future chronological
research
