Greetings CBRR&R team.
I am happy to announce that CBRRR has resumed normal operations of rescuing Chesapeake Bay Retrievers and mixes in need of relief and rescue. On July 2, 2023 The Board of Directors, after careful consideration, rescinded the emergency declaration that had paused accepting new surrenders into the Rescue. As such, all regions have begun to resume rescuing, fostering, and transporting dogs in accordance with CBRR&R’s updated policies and procedures.
Over the past several months, CBRRR has implemented significant changes to our policies and procedures to ensure the Rescue solidly projects and enforces a culture of safety to our volunteers and to the public who encounter our dogs while under our care and ownership.
All volunteers, both current and prospective, must review, read, and agree to all current policies and procedures contained in the updated 2023 Volunteer Manuel and sign a new 2023 Volunteer/Foster Agreement before resuming volunteer activities on behalf of CBRRR.
It is our belief that the policies and procedures implemented will ensure the ability of our organization to continue its mission and if fully and consistently followed will provide safety to the volunteers, families, adopters, and the general public who encounter the dogs in our care.
We know volunteers are the heart and soul of our foster-based dog rescue. The unwavering commitment of all our volunteers to make a difference through their selfless acts of love and kindness provide a lifeline for Chessies in need, offering them a second chance at a brighter future.
Our new policies, procedures and safety videos can be found on our website on the Resource Center Page. If you are a volunteer and need to update your agreement after review of the new policies, simply fill out the Volunteer / Foster Application.
On behalf of the board of directors, we extend our gratitude to you, wouldn't be here without your continued support.
