CBRR&R February 2020 Update
The Prineville 5 Rescue
Rescuers jumped into action to assist a cherished member of the CBR community at her time of need. CBRR&R was contacted February 14, 2020 by a family member of a well known chessie owner in Oregon. Sadly, Juanita “Nita” Schaeffer was in hospice. Her family needed help placing 10 dogs, 5 of which were champion CBR's. There were 5 chessies, 5 other breeds, 4 cats, chickens & pigeons that all needed immediate placement.
Fozzy Ozzy
Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions collaborate to make the rescue of Otis, aka Fozzy Ozzy, happen. Fozzy is getting his second chance at life and learning to live up to his potential. Fozzy's foster reports he has been showing special skills at planking and singing the songs of his people.
Pumpkin & Chocolate take flight
The Southwest region's bonded pair take flight. Pumpkin and Chocolate recently graduated from their board and train program in Southern California. They are headed to a long-term foster home in Utah. Thanks to a joint effort between CBRR&R and Pilot N Paws.
Rian is feeling much better
Hi All, it’s me, Rian. Well, I had to stay at the vet’s all day today before my foster mom bailed me out! And now she’s making me wear that silly cone around my head for two whole weeks.

The vet said that I did really well and should be able start running and playing again then. I told them they couldn’t take a picture of me looking all goofy in the cone - but I haven’t convinced them that two weeks is too long for a young pup like me to not be able to run and play! They better give me lots of treats!
Thank you for helping Laney

CBRR&R rescue dog Laney slipped on the ice and fell down 25 steps on her way to her foster home in North Dakota. Unfortunately, she tore a ligament in her left knee which required surgery. She had the procedure on February 6th. It’s been a couple weeks since her surgery. She really enjoys her massages and doing her exercises. She went to the veterinarian for her two week check up. Laney is doing great. They noticed she is diligently doing her homework. The veterinarian said she can start going on small walks again too. She really enjoys her massages and doing her exercises. Thank you to everyone who donated toward Laney's medical expenses.
